About CMAR

What is in a name?

Well, the “Cry Me A River! Trail Runs” tells it all. Our races are scheduled for July 10, 2020 along the picturesque Illinois River near Peoria (The ‘River-City’), IL. We’ll have a 100 mile, 100k, 50k, and a Half Marathon trail race – so it is your choice which is right for you! The 100 mile race will have about 23,500 ft of elevation gain.  No cry-babies allowed!   All four “Cry Me A River! Trail Runs” events begin and end in Camp Wokanda – a former Boy Scout Campground and now Peoria Park District facility. The camp is a short 20 minute drive from Peoria. Camp Wokanda, founded in the 1920s, is a beautiful 316-acre woodland setting along the Illinois River.

The half marathon race will start with a 2 mile loop in Camp Wokanda, then run out to Green Valley Camp and back.  The 50k will run one two mile loop at Wokanda then one out and back to Detweiller Park, they will then do another two mile loop in Wokanda before doing one out and back to Green Valley Camp. The 100k will entail 3 combinations of the 2 mille Wokanda loop, along with an out and back from Detweiller Park with 1 additional 2 mile loop at Wokanda. The 100 mile race will consist of one  2 mile loop in Camp Wokanda before completing each of the five out and backs to Detweiller Park. The cut off for the 100 mile is 36 hours.  100 milers must have started their last loop by 3pm Saturday.  All runners must have completed the distance they signed up for by midnight on Saturday.  Pacers are allowed after 2 loops (40 miles).  We will be capping the race at 200 total registrants, signup early to guarantee a spot.
